Benritrovato, camerata MegaDave!
A due anni da "The System has Failed", Dave Mustain e i suoi Megadeth hanno pubblicato nei giorni scorsi "United Abominations".
Faranno discutere, e molto, i testi perché fin dal titolo emerge chiaramente che il nostro Dave 'spero che tutti voi sappiate chi cazzo sono io' Mustaine ha le idee ben chiare: l’O.N.U. è infatti descritto come un immorale ed inutile carrozzone che vive alle spalle dell’America (e come dargli torto? La maggior parte dei rappresentanti di quell’istituzione provengono da Paesi in cui la Democrazia non è applicata e, a maggioranza, approvano risoluzioni e provvedimenti a nome di tutti gli Stati…).
Poi vi sono i richiami alla Fede Cristiana, già presenti nell’album precedente ("Shadow of Death", che riporta un passo dell'Apocalisse bibblica), e un solido patriottismo di fondo: insomma, anche i Megadeth del politicamente corretto (giustamente) se ne fottono!
Dal punto di vista musicale, l’album è molto buono. Nulla di nuovo sotto il sole, ma quello che c’è è molto, molto ben suonato da Dave e "compagni" fra cui, new entry, c’è anche il bassista James Lo Menzo (il vero J.Lo…), già apprezzato nei White Lion, Pride & Glory e Black Label Society fra gli altri. Da segnalare la ben riuscita riproposizione della splendida "A tout le Monde" in duetto con Cristina Scabbia, cantante dei nostri Lacuna Coil.
Insomma, un album da avere. E poi il 30 giugno a Milano, tutti rigorosamente con la bandiera americana, a sentirli al Gods of Metal!
